MAN AND THE SOCIETY. A SUBJECTIVE AND OBJECTIVE EVALUATION / ENGLISH

On the background of an intensifying crisis in our Baltic Countries,

It’s by no chance that we chose such a contrasting set of personalities for our latest discussion. Doctors, politicians and priests.

Representatives of the three most important governmental spheres. The discussion was about a national problem.

The audience was presented with ‘severe’ shocking statistics of our countries.

Lithuania and Latvia respectively occupy the second and third places in terms of global mortality rate with an African Country ‘Lesotho’ on the top of the List.

We (Latvia) have the most of cancer patients and patients with other major health conditions amongst the European countries, the major causes of death includes stroke and HIV.

Of course, you can not notice this and not pay attention to it. But we cannot be independent of the society in which we are.

Whether we like it or not, it’s a fact.

It might irritate someone. A protest might as well arise in someone’s heart.

But we are connected to the society around us, not only in the cultural sphere and religious upbringing.

We are dependent on this environment Judicially and economically.

Demographically, psychologically and spiritually.

So, the watchmen on the walls once again brought together concerned and influential people in order to analyze what kind of society we live in.

To reason and try to establish at least some approximate ‘diagnosis’ of the society around us.

How healthy or unhealthy is our nation?

How interested is the government in national healing or is it easier to govern a sick society?

Why does the government categorically refuse to raise salaries for doctors and teachers at least a bit? Is education and health for their people an impermissible luxury?

We had such difficult questions on the agenda of our panel discussion. The outcome is left for you to judge. Here is a Link to watch:

I can’t say that the conversation turned out to be easy and simple. Not. We are all different. Hence the solutions and the proposed ‘recipes’ were different, if not contradictory.

But the most important thing is that we learn to communicate, analyze and formulate our public position, which will one day be voiced at the highest governmental level.

Thank you so much, Pastor Marius, for the opportunity to hold such important strategic meeting.

Our work is not in vain.

These concerned people have an important and key promise - "But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with HEALING in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”

He will heal the sores of our society and fill the whole Baltic land with His Glory.

Those were the prophetic words released during next two ministrations that followed.
You can watch here and here.
