Born twice. Passed through the Heavens / ENGLISH
Last Sunday, all of our district churches gathered for a solemn Christmas service.
As always, you worry a little so that there is no usual holiday formality.
The last thing I wanted to do was repeat usual phrases, devoid of any practical meaning.
And at the same time, I would not want to overload this morning service with complex doctrines.
The topic was born suddenly and casually. A revelation of Eternity stirred from within.
It seems as though the Lord Himself decided to arrange for us another mountain of Transfiguration. We already know something about Him. But something else is still hidden, and His great desire is to get to know all of us closer. He, of course, least of all wanted to be the Familiar Stranger to us.
So, I decided this time to reason about Him from the position of Eternity. I tried to combine the pages of His autobiography of heaven and earth.
Oh, how we are so used to reading the pages of His earthly biography, and how unusual it is for us to read the pages of His heavenly autobiography.
His story did not begin with Bethlehem and Easter was not the end. He was born before the creation of the world.
Lacking the knowledge of His heavenly birth, we are unlikely to fully understand the main meaning of His earthly birth
I consider this sermon one of the best this year. You can watch the service here:
And after the service, we had a Christmas banquet.
Where each church rendered a congratulatory performance.
